If you're not so confident in your hops, and can't make it through the door before it closes, you can abuse an animation that the door does before the cutscene starts. After its initial close, the door goes through 3 animations where it can randomly open just big enough for the player to be let through. If you press up against the door, there's about a 1 in 30 chance you can make it through the door during these animations. Overview
Bridge The Gap is the fourth map in The Return. Typically it's seen as one of the hardest maps in Portal 2, due to the difficult Door Skip at the start, followed by a difficult reportal/fling strat.

Door Skip
Door Skip tips and tricks video by Daniel
The first part of Bridge The Gap is door skip, a trick that skips about 40 seconds of Wheatley's dialogue, allowing the player to enter the chamber without watching a cutscene.
The trick involves a relatively difficult bunnyhop pattern, so to get the skip consistently you must be confident in your hops.
Note that it is considered SLA to reload for these animations, and thus isn't allowed in the main Inbounds No SLA category.
Easier Route
After making it through Door Skip, or waiting out the cutscene, shoot a portal up to the area with the Bridge. Shooting more towards the right side is quicker. Portal over to the Bridge area, and shoot the portal you initially shot up to the bridge area pointing at the bridge. Walk through the new portal, and hit the button to drop the cube.
Shoot the opposite portal that the bridge source is on to the wall behind the cube dropper, so that you can walk under the dropper to grab the cube. After grabbing the cube, walk through the portal up to the bridge source. Shoot the opposite portal to the Bridge source on the wall below the platform where the cube dropper button is. Walk through the portal, and hop towards the ending area with the cube to place on the button.
Note that with this slow route there is a chance to get an Awkward Elevator. If you place the cube on the button during the silence between GLaDOS' talking about the door being broken and Wheatley's talk about birds, Wheatley will interrupt the ending dialogue, causing it to never finish, thus the elevator to never transition until it reaches the very end of the elevator shaft.

The optimal dialogue for the Elevator Fade is entering the elevator during the break after GLaDOS says "Here".
"Well done. In fact, you did so well, I'm going to note this on your file, in the commendations section. Oh, there's lots of room here. [*] 'Did.... well. ... Enough.'"
