Overview

Catapult Intro is the fifth map of The Cold Boot. While it only has one basic route, there are many optimizations that shave off time for more advanced players.

General Route

The start of the map has a hallway with a trigger for a panel animation. Hit that trigger as quickly as possible, and when the panel animation is finished, head inside the chamber as quickly as possible.

Get onto the faith plate, and when in mid-air, shoot a portal inside of the Camera on the wall by the exit door. When you land, shoot another portal anywhere and grab the camera as its falling. Place the camera onto the button. This will activate the ending dialogue quicker than grabbing a cube and putting it on the button, since that button only checks for physics objects, not cubes specifically.

Hop towards the cube dropper button, hit it, then quickly get on the front of the faith plate. If you're fast enough, you'll be able to grab the cube in mid-air flying towards the start of the chamber. You can then drop the cube, which will allow a small optimization where you can land directly on the faith plate instead of behind it. If you don't get the cube on the first fling, you can hop on the faith plate at the start of the map and pick it up on the trip back to the exit door and button. When you land, place the cube on the button.

Optimizations

Faster Camera

Where one portal should be placed for the faster camera optimization

There's another camera in the map, near the starting door, so if you place a portal above the cube button, then one inside the camera, you can grab the camera, and throw it through the portal for a chance for it to land on the button.
