Overview

Ceiling Catapult is the first chamber of the Third Chapter, 'The Return'.

General Route

Demonstration and Tutorial for Double Dialogue Skip.

The General Route begins by performing a Double Dialogue Skip, which is a skip achieved by activating a trigger - only intended to be activated once per fling - a total of 3 times in 1 fling. This is done by precisely timing crouches to repeatedly change the size of your hitbox to activate the trigger multiple times.

Once the player has launched through the ceiling portal, there are many approaches to complete the chamber. Among the fastest is to replace the portal below the button that drops the cube, fall back through and hit the catapult, hit the button and place a portal to reach the cube platform. Once the cube has been retrieved and the laser has been re-directed to the wall portal surface, the player can place a portal on and then stand on top of the slanted portal surface near the exit, and strafe into an opposite portal, flinging to the exit. From there they can complete the chamber as intended.

Challenge Mode Specific

For the Challenge Mode Route, a skip called Ceiling Skip is performed. This skip involves pressing against an invisible wall above the catapult and strafing to a ledge of debris near the Observation room. From this position, the player can jump off the debris and jump on a very small brush jutting out from the Observation room frame, allowing them to clear the gap to the rest of the chamber.

From this point, the runner portals on top of the slanted surface near the exit, strafes into a portal and activates the button, Reportals to grab the cube over the glass wall, and reportals to the end.
