Implosion Skip (Chair Climbing) Route History
Wizard899's original video
Wizard899 and PerOculos start the early stages of the routing for the current world record route. The original theory was to use the object boosting used in the Least Portals route for Future Starter in order to get up to the portal surface. The idea did not pan out, but it started development on the route we have now.
Krzyhau's Hop Theory
After more theories and discussions from community members, Krzyhau proposes a hop to cross the gap from the upper railing to the portal. With moving portals, the game sucks the player into the portal from a considerable distance, so this is seen as possible. Krzyhau and Nidboj132 continue to theorize about the use of chair hops, and end up working their way all the way from the floor to the top beam through a series of three chair hops.
Krzyhau gets the first time on the map with the route on 2020-10-14, 12:49:54, but on a cycle one later than optimal, so he does not take World Record. Xinera, Lathil, Zach and Zypeh all grind the map out for the next few days, with the first world record using the map by Zach at 2020-10-15, 01:19:35, and all players but Lathil ending up with at least one World Record as the time was progressively lowered. It is currently believed that the route will cap out around 49.XX.
